Scab forecasting models help predict the risk of the disease during the appropriate growth stage of the crop, and help producers make decisions about fungicide use.

Wheat Multi-state Model
A multi-state (22 states) scab forecasting model is available for determining risk of scab infection in wheat on any given day of the growing season. The model predicts the risk of infection based on environmental parameters prior to the date chosen, and also allows the user to look at 24 and 48 hour forecasts, as well as enter variety susceptibility information. This model is found at: http://www.wheatscab.psu.edu.

For information on how to use the multi-state model visit the Ohio State Fusarium Head Blight Forecasting System Factsheet.
